Abstract

Throughout the different artistic eras and until our recent times, the ancient garden sculptures have been always considered as a topic of interest to sculptors. In doing so, sculptors attempt to study marble statues from different perspectives. They emphasize the marble statue’s visual values, its aesthetic features and its integrative relation with open-air gardens as a unique surrounding. Thus, it is necessary for sculptors to comprehend the environmental factors that could contribute to the structural and external deterioration of a marble sculpture in open-air.  The current research focused on an ancient marble statue located in Montazah-Palace gardens. The researcher carried out extensive analysis to the environmental features of the statue’s surroundings and their negative effects on its condition. Eventually, the researcher implemented a comprehensive restoration and reconstruction process for the sake of the marble statue’s revival.
