It is possible that the first origins of the creation of the art of faience date back to an early period in the Arab East, dating back to the era of the Babylonians, when they used it to decorate the walls of their old buildings, as the opinion notes in (Bab Ishtar), which is one of the first examples of this art (Hamid et al. 1982, pg. 56-75) These decorations were executed using different clay shapes, fixed on the surface of the wall covered with wet clay material and distributed in a way that achieves the aesthetic element of the decorative theme (462. 1956 LIOYD). The painted wage (with colored enamel) is considered the ancient origin of the ceramic and tile panels (Al-Rihawi, 1999, p. 23). This method is somewhat similar to the idea of the work and style of the tiles, which was known in the following ages and about which the art of various mosaics spread in the Greek, Roman, Byzantine and early Christian eras. With it, which gave it the ability to survive and permanence while preserving its beauty and colors (Al-Shall 1984, p. 36).
