Statue of the Museum of Art History in Vienna No. ÄOS 8184 (religious and artistic analysis)

Abstract

It was not the size of the statue that determines its importance to the ancient Egyptian, as there are many small statues that give the impression to some that they are of less value and status than the huge statues. The ancient Egyptian who produced many arts not for the sake of art, but to serve mostly religious goals related to the doctrine of resurrection and immortality, where religious motives determined many of the ancient Egyptian art styles, so the artist devoted most of his production to religion.
Among these small statues is a rare unpublished statue in the Museum of Art History in Vienna (fig. 1) 8184 inv.no.AOS.
