Abstract

This research deals with the traditional residential architecture in the area of Al-Jarid Al-Tunisi, located in the oases of Al-Jarid Al-Tunisi in the southwest of the Tunisian countryside, which is administratively affiliated with the state of Tozeur in three main points:

· The first axis: deals with the components of traditional architecture of habitation.
· The second axis: deals with building materials, construction techniques and decorative motifs.
· The third axis: deals with the technical classification of traditional architecture styles in the region.

This research enabled me to classify it within what has been termed as the local architecture. The identity of Al-Jurid architecture is a product of a local heritage in its decorative motifs. The locality represented the spirit of its character by relying on local building materials such as bricks, bricks and palm wood, Simplicity in the architecture of Al-Jurid dwelling also represented the most important architectural characteristics that appeared on the traditional architecture in the Jurid area. This can be seen through the two models that were chosen in the city of Nefta, and I have described them with illustrations in figures and paintings.
