Beshtak al-Nasiri Mosque in Cairo (736-737 AH / 1336-1337 AD) a new architectural and documentary study

Abstract


In Sha’ban 736 AH/March-April 1335AD, Prince Bashtak al-Nasiri began constructing a mosque bearing his name described by al-Maqrizi as the al-Kirmani vault line on the elephant pond, which no longer exists. Ali Mubarak mentioned that this mosque is located at the end of Darb al-Jamamiz Street or Bishtak Street when it connects to Al Khaleej Al Masry Street, now known as Port Said Street.
