Abstract

During the 12-13 AH / 18-19 AD centuries, the East India Company school provided us with miniature that were of a documentary nature about the social and religious life of the Indians, and among them were subjects related to the religious aspect of the Muslims of India., Especially the Shi’ites, who are a religious minority in India, and they are many religious ceremonies whose rituals differ from those of Sunni Muslims, The most important of these celebrations among the Shiites was the celebration of the anniversary of Karbala, due to the religious symbolism it carries in the hearts of the Shiites These celebrations attracted the attention of European generals and officials , especially the British, who are the new patron of Indian art. And they are asked from Indian Painters to Produce Miniatures depicting these Celebrations ,
